“Lord, Have Mercy is the perfect book to help children, and an entire family, learn about and come to fully appreciate the goodness of God’s love and mercy for us. Reading this story to my second-grade daughter who is preparing for First Reconciliation has helped us all become so excited, and grateful, for the gift of Confession. These books are so easy to read, the rhymes are memorable and comforting, and the illustrations are an artistic tour de force that are so lovely to look at and contemplate. Add this book to your library. You’ll love it!”

“What a treasure of a book to help young hearts begin to learn about the limitless mercy of God. This book will build a beautiful foundation for children to grow up believing in the mercy of God, and also trusting deeply in the personal nature of that mercy for each one of them.”
—Emily Wilson Hussem, Speaker and Author
“Beautiful. That’s the first thought that came to my mind and heart when I read Lord, Have Mercy. The story of the book is literally as old as time—and as relevant as ever. Readers, both children and adults, will be moved by this message. In a world and time where we seem to be able to complicate the most simple matters, Lord, Have Mercy presents God’s love and mercy in a way that all are able to comprehend.”
—Fr. Dave Pivonka, TOR, President of Franciscan University of Steubenville
“Scott and Emily have done it again with a children’s book that brings to life the richest theological truths of our faith in a simple yet stunning children’s story. It is a true masterpiece pointing us all to the open arms and merciful heart of the Father.”

What a beautiful book! I was blessed to win this before its release during a Scott Hahn and John Bergsma conference. This book shines a light on God’s incredible mercy toward us. It reminds us how, just as the devil deceived Adam and Eve with lies, he continues to do so throughout history—even in our own lives. Yet, despite our sins, God is always waiting for us with open arms in the sacrament of reconciliation. It’s a powerful reminder of His love and forgiveness. This book isn’t just for kids—it’s perfect for adults too. Highly recommend adding it to your collection!

I just received my copy and I cannot wait to read this to my grandkids! I bought it for a Christmas gift. It is perfectly relatable to kids of all ages. I love the message that God’s mercy is available for everyone. I think anyone would like to read this book but it is especially endearing to children. The pictures are colorful but not distracting. I would highly recommend this book!
