The Spirit of St. Paul Award

Fr. Mike Schmitz

Fr. Mike Schmitz was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Duluth in 2003, where he currently serves as the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry and Chaplain for the University of Minnesota Duluth’s Newman Center. Since 2015, Fr. Mike has hosted Ascension’s popular YouTube series Ascension Presents. He is best known as the host of both Bible in a Year and Catechism in a Year podcasts, and remains one of the most in-demand Catholic speakers today. 

About the Spirit of St. Paul Award 

The Spirit of St. Paul Award is bestowed on individuals who exemplify the Apostle Paul’s dedication to boldly proclaiming the Word of God to all nations. It is a recognition of an individual’s zealous efforts to witness to the Truth of the Gospel in both word and deed to all corners of the world. 

The Priscilla & Aquila Award

Rich & Carole DiClaudio

Rich & Carole DiClaudio’s unwavering commitment to the St. Paul Center, especially by helping to provide support and counsel during its most explosive years of growth, reflects the depth of who they are. They have each devoted their lives to serving the Catholic Church through countless outreaches in the Pittsburgh area and beyond. Together, they represent a living model of what it looks like for a Catholic married couple to place their gifts entirely at the service of the Church.

About the Award 

The Priscilla & Aquila Award is bestowed on individuals who embody the spirit of Priscilla and Aquila, the married couple who became friends with the Apostle Paul during his mission to Corinth (see Acts 18:2). They were known for their hospitality, their work in spreading the gospel, and their courage as martyrs for the faith.
