Good Shepherd Award
Bishop Robert Barron
Bishop Robert Barron is the bishop of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester (Minnesota) and the founder of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries. Throughout his priesthood and episcopate, Bishop Barron has served as one of the foremost voices in our Church today – a leader that Catholics across the world have come to know and trust. Bishop Barron previously served as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles from 2015 to 2022 before Pope Francis appointed him to become the ninth bishop of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester.
Since founding Word on Fire in 2000, Bishop Barron has inspired millions of Catholics and non-Catholics alike, proclaiming Christ with a kind of apostolic boldness that led Francis Cardinal George to describe him as “one of the Church’s best messengers.”
