The Spirit of St. Paul Award
Fr. Mike Schmitz
Fr. Mike Schmitz was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Duluth in 2003, where he currently serves as the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry and Chaplain for the University of Minnesota Duluth’s Newman Center. Since 2015, Fr. Mike has hosted Ascension’s popular YouTube series Ascension Presents. He is best known as the host of both Bible in a Year and Catechism in a Year podcasts, and remains one of the most in-demand Catholic speakers today.
About the Spirit of St. Paul Award
The Spirit of St. Paul Award is bestowed on individuals who exemplify the Apostle Paul’s dedication to boldly proclaiming the Word of God to all nations. It is a recognition of an individual’s zealous efforts to witness to the Truth of the Gospel in both word and deed to all corners of the world.

General tickets grant access to the Gala events: Adoration, Mass, reception, dinner, and program.
VIP tickets grant access to the events listed above, as well as full bar access, the VIP reception, photo opportunities with Fr. Mike Schmitz, and the Saturday morning retreat.

Your ticket is your name tag, which you will receive upon arrival. You will receive a confirmation email upon purchasing your tickets. You do not need to bring the email to check in, only a photo ID.
The schedule will be emailed out to registrants when it becomes available (details finalized by summer 2026).
Details regarding check-in and scheduling will be sent to your email closer to the date of the event. Please keep an eye on your email for more information in the weeks following your registration.
Rooms will be available at the Wyndham Grand hotel for Gala guests.
The Wyndham Grand hotel provides valet parking priced at $38 per day. There are nearby parking garages that vary in price. The St. Paul Center recommends reserving a parking spot in advance.
Please dress in formal attire (suits and ties for men, comparable attire for ladies).
There will be photo opportunities for VIP ticket holders only. There are limited VIP tickets available.
This retreat is an add-on to the gala ticket and is only available to those attending the Gala.
The schedule will include Mass, breakfast, and programming provided by speakers from the St. Paul Center. Please note that Fr. Mike Schmitz will not be present.
