About this Episode

We’ve all heard the statistic that only 30 percent of Catholics in America believe in the Real Presence. But one statistic that came out of the recent Pew poll has been largely overlooked: most of the 70 percent of Catholics who believe the Eucharist is merely a symbol also believe that this is what the Church teaches. If this is true, we’re not just facing a crisis of faith, but a crisis of catechesis. What can we do to make sure more Catholics are taught the truth of what the Church teaches about the Eucharist?

As part of The Real Presence Project we’re undertaking here at the St. Paul Center, we’re proud to announce the first part of this endeavor is already underway—The Eucharist in Scripture, a six-lesson video Bible study, is out now.

Behind every story of conversion, odds are there will be the Church Fathers and their unwavering defense of the Real Presence. Learn the impact the Church Fathers still have today in the upcoming Journey Through study The Bible and the Church Fathers.

Catholics today have the benefit of two millennia of scholarship to aid our understanding of the Eucharist. Lawrence Feingold draws from this rich tradition to give a comprehensive overview of the Blessed Sacrament in The Eucharist: Mystery of Presence, Sacrifice, and Communion.
