The Diocese of Toledo was the site of our second Journey Through Scripture Bible study training event this year and all I have to say is “Wow!” Well over a hundred people packed out a hotel conference room in Findlay, Ohio, to receive Genesis to Jesus training and materials.
This was the first time we did the event in one day and I have to say the results speak for themselves. At the end of a packed schedule these Ohioans were still excited about what they had learned and the tools they had received:
- “The most valuable (part) was tying the Old to the New…so many things are so much clearer…I can understand the New Testament so much better and appreciate the Old Testament so much more now.”
- “Great program. This is the evangelization of the Catholic Church I was looking for.”
- “This is the best study I have been to since I became Catholic 30 years ago.”
- “Thanks be to God for the inspiring men of the St. Paul Center.”
Aw shucks…That last one makes me blush. Of course, these events don’t happen without the dedicated work of local people in the diocese. I especially want to thank Marilyn Wagner and Terri and Joe Wenning. Your organization, planning and hospitality were stellar. Thanks also to Jackie and Bob Baldwin, and of course Fr. Scherger, who preached a great homily on the sacrifice of the mass.
In fact, we had such a good time and the response was so overwhelming that we’re coming back! On June 13, 2009, we will be offering training for The Bible and the Mass in the Diocese of Toledo. Keep your eyes on our website for details.
