O Give Thanks to the LORD!

O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his steadfast love endures forever! Ps 118:1

The Hispanic community of Bridgeton, New Jersey (Diocese of Camden) gave a tangible sign of what it means to be disciples who are called to witness.  They have whole heartedly embraced the mission of the New Evangelization.  This community was the first group to receive the Journey Through Scripture presenter training session in Spanish.

It is hard to describe in a few words the movement of the Spirit in the parish hall: there were around 100 participants representing a diversity of age groups, though most of them were young adults.  A few young couples brought their small children, even infants; the parents took turns walking or rocking the children and remained attentive to the presentation.  Many gave up a day of work in order to attend the training. 

Also among the participants were Sisters of the Missionary Daughters of the Most Pure Virgin Mary. Truly, the entire group’s enthusiasm and eagerness to learn more about God’s Word was an inspiration for me. May they be blessed as they go and teach others, as they accept the call to be agents of the New Evangelization.  I know that I was blessed to share this experience with them.  I give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
