What People Are Saying

“When Lawrence Feingold published his seminal The Natural Desire to See God, critics feared that it presaged a reawakening and reanimation of the Catholic scholastic tradition. His new book energetically and serenely proves the critics right, but in a manner which none could have predicted, and in so doing confirms what his many friends have long known, namely, Professor Feingold’s preeminence among those reviving scholastic theology in a contemporary and highly accessible vein.”
Matthew Levering
James N. and Mary D. Perry, Jr. Chair of Theology, Mundelein Seminary
“Lawrence Feingold’s new book on Fundamental Theology is one of the finest treatments of this subject in English. His presentation is entirely faithful to the Magisterium and he writes in a clear and accessible manner. He makes excellent use of sources and his expositions of subtle topics such as biblical inerrancy and magisterial authority are extremely helpful and illuminating.”
Robert L. Fastiggi
Professor of Systematic Theology, Sacred Heart Major Seminary
“Every now and then a book comes along that changes everything. Dr. Feingold has produced such a book. Within hours of receiving the manuscript I found myself lecturing from its pages. I believe Faith Comes from What Is Heard will become the standard text in its field and the obvious choice for those who teach fundamental theology in seminaries and universities. But it will do still more than that. This is the book that will make fundamental theology accessible to motivated Catholic laity outside the academy.”
Scott Hahn
Father Michael Scanlan, TOR, Chair of Biblical Theology and the New Evangelization, Franciscan University of Steubenville
