2018 East Coast Priest Conference

For over a decade, the St. Paul Center has invited priests from around the country and the world to come together for fellowship, spiritual renewal, and the excellent training in Scripture. When we first began, we saw the hunger for this type of formation and the spiritual renewal that came with it. That’s why we decided to make serving our priests in this way one of our primary focuses. What began in 2006 as a retreat held at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, PA, has become two, annual, four-day conferences, each hosting around 200 priests from around the world. Our East and West Coast Priest Conferences aren’t just an opportunity to catch up on theological and biblical studies from today’s top scholars—they are also a time for spiritual renewal and rediscovering their love for the Lord.

Last July at Oglebay Resort and Conference Center in Wheeling, West Virginia, the St. Paul Center’s 2018 East Coast Priest Conference drew over two hundred priests from over thirty-five states and eight countries. In addition to daily Mass, Confession, and personal prayer, priests had the opportunity to hear renowned speakers and scholars Dr. Scott Hahn, Dr. John Bergsma, and Dr. Brant Pitre.

But we knew there was an opportunity to give even more priests this much-needed experience, which is why we’re beyond excited for the upcoming conference in California. It will be held January 7–10 in La Jolla, and we hope that many priests who could not attend our conference in July will be able to join us in January. Our first annual West Coast Priest Conference will feature the same expert scholarship, opportunity for sacramental graces, and fellowship that priests have come to expect from a St. Paul Center conference. Scott Hahn and John Bergsma will return as speakers and will be joined by Dr. Tim Gray, president of the Augustine Institute. All this will be hosted at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa, which boasts ten lush acres of San Diego sun-drenched charm.

With this lineup of speakers, at this inspiringly beautiful resort, our first West Coast Priest Conference is sure to be an occasion for many graces. Our priests do so much for us—they dedicate their lives to Christ and His Church—and we want to give them encouragement for their difficult journey. We want to give them hope amid the confusion in the Church.

That’s why we’re absolutely thrilled that, thanks to the generous support of one of our donors, we are able to drop registration from $800 to $400. This is incredible, because our priests will still be treated to the most serene and breathtaking accommodations and talks from the most respected Catholic theologians—and they will get all of this for half the cost. We sincerely hope this enables many more of our spiritual fathers to attend.

This Christmas, you have the opportunity to help, too. Think of how many priests, parishes, and ministries will be impacted because of the generosity of one person. Please consider supporting our priests, whether by sending your own spiritual father for rest and renewal, or by sponsoring a priest who is financially unable to attend.
