Witness to Wonder deepens the reader’s appreciation for the Sacraments by igniting in them a passion for the grandeur and sweep of the Church’s overall sacramental vision. The book aims at nothing less than to try to enrapture them for a world where not just matter and form but wonder and delight are at the center of our understanding of the Sacraments.

About the author:

For years Regis Martin, STD, has been regaling audiences about the mysteries of God and Church, most especially his students at Franciscan University of Steubenville where he teaches theology. Author of half-dozen or more books, including The Suffering of Love (Ignatius, 2006) and Still Point (Ave Maria, 2012), his work frequently appears in Crises and The Catholic Thing. A graduate (magna cum laude) from the Angelicum in Rome (1988), he is married and the father of ten children.

Endorsements:
“Martin has the skill of a master teacher: the ability to deliver rich thought in an easy, elegant style that exhilarates even the casual reader. His comments on beauty are exceptional, but so is this entire beautiful text. Witness to Wonder is a deep and engaging reflection on the essentials of Catholic identity and the meaning of the sacraments from start to finish.”

—Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap., Archbishop of Philadelphia
“For many people today, the great tradition of Catholic thought and practice—even the sacraments—seems as irrelevant to their lives as particle physics or non-Euclidean geometry. Regis Martin has the gift, a great gift, of bringing together everyday life and the carefully articulated truths of Christianity. Anyone who wants a better appreciation for how the faith can enlighten and reorient us as we make our way on our earthly pilgrimage will benefit from this easily approachable and highly rewarding text.”

—Robert Royal, President, Faith & Reason Institute

“Read this book and see your Church and your world—perhaps for the first time—through the eyes of a poet. Regis Martin is the one voice that can startle us out of our ‘endemic ennui’ and into astonishment at the beauty of it all. This is the Catholic Thing our culture’s been missing for at least a generation.”

—Mike Aquilina, Bestselling author of over forty books, including How the Choir Converted the World (Emmaus Road)
